Don Kinahan grew up in Coaldale Alberta, where his singing career started in the church choir. Other than church, his singing was limited to karaoke nights at Grandpas house and in Dad’s truck where Chris De Burgh played on repeat. Aside from Chris De Burgh, Don’s musical influence stayed pure to the country classics such as Willie and Waylon, Johnny Cash, and Dolly Parton. It wasn’t until high school that a friend of Don’s said he had a good voice for country music and suggested he pick up the guitar. Shortly after, Don was invited to a barn jam session which consisted of half a dozen old cowboys playing country music which ranged from 1930-1980. It was there that Don’s love of the cowboy way and the songs that they sang flourished. It wasn’t until meeting Connor Adams at college in 2019 that Don began to play music in front of a crowd that consisted of more than half a dozen old cowboys. And after many games of crib, a few bottles of whiskey, and many more songs, Connor and Don’s friendship turned into a singing partnership.
